I just finished To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before and I have to say- so! Many! Feelings! This’ll be a quick review because I didn’t take too many notes, but I hope you enjoy! I read it as the 5th book for my June Reading Challenge and I’m so excited to share my thoughts on it.
Book: To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before
Author: Jenny Han
Rating: 4/5 stars ★★★★
Goodreads summary and picture: To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before is the story of Lara Jean, who has never openly admitted her crushes, but instead wrote each boy a letter about how she felt, sealed it, and hid it in a box under her bed. But one day Lara Jean discovers that somehow her secret box of letters has been mailed, causing all her crushes from her past to confront her about the letters: her first kiss, the boy from summer camp, even her sister’s ex-boyfriend, Josh. As she learns to deal with her past loves face to face, Lara Jean discovers that something good may come out of these letters after all.
Review: First off, the cover and design is SO pretty! It also really fit with the actual contents of the book. It was such a sweet book and honestly, it made me laugh and cry. I loved the characters and their development. The beginning was nice but in my opinion, the middle got kinda slow. Then again, I hardly ever read contemporary and it just took me a minute to get into it. Lara Jean was such an innocent narrator compared to the fantasy books I usually read! :)) Eventually it picks up the pace and it’s just an all around sweet little read. Over all, it was just a heartfelt and nice contemporary to kick off the summer. I look forward to picking up the second book, P.S. I Still Love You as soon as I can.
Sorry I made such a small review, but these are my key thoughts and ideas about the book. I definitely reccomend it, even if you’re not a big contemporary reader like me! Thank you for visiting my blog, and I hope you continue to read my reviews to come.
