The White Rose Review

I’ve finished yet another book, and that means it’s time to post a review! This time I’ve read…

Book: The White Rose

Author: Amy Ewing

Rate: 4/5 stars

Goodreads summary: Violet is on the run. After the Duchess of the Lake catches Violet with Ash, the hired companion at the Palace of the Lake, Violet has no choice but to escape the Jewel or face certain death. So along with Ash and her best friend, Raven, Violet runs away from her unbearable life of servitude.

But no one said leaving the Jewel would be easy. As they make their way through the circles of the Lone City, Regimentals track their every move, and the trio barely manages to make it out unscathed and into the safe haven they were promised—a mysterious house in the Farm.

But there’s a rebellion brewing, and Violet has found herself in the middle of it. Alongside a new ally, Violet discovers her Auguries are much more powerful than she ever imagined. But is she strong enough to rise up against the Jewel and everything she has ever known?

The White Rose is a raw, captivating sequel to The Jewel that fans won’t be able to put down until the final shocking moments.

Review: As well as with the first book in this trilogy, (The Jewel) the writing was beautiful. The characters were neat and it had very many OH MAN moments! I must say I did enjoy this book. The thing is, it was NOT what I was expecting (which is fine) it was just that itwas very different from The Jewel, and I liked The Jewel. Different is good, don’t get me wrong, it’s just that I expected more.

I did like the plotline and it was very thought out I was just excited and it didn’t live up to my expectations BUT, if you did read The Jewel you should still check out The White Rose because it is still worth the read and I did enjoy it a lot!!!!

See what you think of it, and I will catch you later.

Oh! Quick announcement- I’m doing a The Darkest Minds series read along hosted by my Twitter friend Mariam that starts tomorrow. (I’ll be reading book 2, Never Fade!) I think there’s still time to join? I’ve also finally started Clockwork Angel! Anyway, thank you for reading and feel more than free to check out my other posts!
