Review- Ruin and Rising by Leigh Bardugo

Alright, I finished a book and naturally, I’m here to review it! This time I obviously read Ruin and Rising by Leigh Bardugo, which means I’ve finished the Grisha trilogy!

Book: Ruin and Rising

Author: Leigh Bardugo

Final rating: 5/5 stars!

Goodreads summary: The Darkling rules Ravka from his shadow throne.

Now the nation’s fate rests with a broken Sun Summoner, a disgraced tracker, and the shattered remnants of a once-great magical army.

Deep in an ancient network of tunnels and caverns, a weakened Alina must submit to the dubious protection of the Apparat and the zealots who worship her as a Saint. Yet her plans lie elsewhere, with the hunt for the elusive firebird and the hope that an outlaw prince still survives.

Alina will have to forge new alliances and put aside old rivalries as she and Mal race to find the last of Morozova’s amplifiers. But as she begins to unravel the Darkling’s secrets, she reveals a past that will forever alter her understanding of the bond they share and the power she wields. The firebird is the one thing that stands between Ravka and destruction—and claiming it could cost Alina the very future she’s fighting for. (Again, this is the Goodreads summary.)

Review: This. Book. This book. MAn I JUsT!!!! The writing was fantastic, the characters were fantastic, the plot… fantastic. This is one of the few times I’ve read a series ending and REALLY liked it. The style and format are simply beautiful and I’m obsessed with how pretty the book is! I don’t think that there’s anything that I really disliked about this book besides the fact that it hits me in the feels… so freakin hard! I think it was geniously crafted and if you haven’t yet, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE read the Grisha trilogy!

Sorry for the short review, it’s hard to give reviews on books you really loved without going all OHMYGOODNESSTHISBOOKANDTHENTHEPLOTTWISTAND ASDFGHJKL:”!#ABBYUTYRTCVBDTIF%^&&I^IEB:N:MOPH(
